The Level 1 course is for those preparing for, or employees starting their first job in sake and wanting to climb the hospitality laddder

The Level 1 Award in Sake teaches you about how Sake is made, in a way that explains what you are tasting in the glass. This is one of the best ways to learn about sake. You’ll come out of the course with a great start to really understanding Sake

Entry Requirements

There is no pre-requisite wine knowledge

required for this qualification

 

However, you must be over 18 years of age at the time of booking

Course Delivery

The Level 1 Award in Sake has a requirement of 6 hours of taught delivery, including the exam

Assessment

The Level 1 assessment is by a closed-book exam of 30 multiple-choice questions within 45-minutes. The pass mark is 70%

Special Consideration

If you feel you were at a disadvantage during the exam due to, for example, illness, you can submit a special consideration request to us. We will pass this on to WSET for their assessment. The form (on request) must be sent to Vinum Vitae within 5 working days after your exam date. Please see our APP Policies document for further information.
