Castello Di Amorosa, Calistoga, Napa Valley

A nice tour around the Castle, where the bricks were imported from Italy and Austria.A good but crowded tasting of some of the Reserve wines (+$10), tour was part of the Napa Valley Wine Train ticket. We also had a barrel tasting.

Castello Di Amorosa

My favourites wines were:

The Reserve Chardonnay 2016, Round, Powerful and Long Finish. US$50

The Zingaro 2014, Old Vines Zinfandel, ripe fruit, firm Acidity, Full Body, slightly high Alcohol (15.1). Too young now, but has potential. US$39

The Barbera 2015, Cherry, Strawberry, Fine Tannins, Long Finish. Medium Body.. Easy drinking. US$35

Also tried the 2012 Super Tuscan copy La Castellana with CS, SG & ME

And then on a coach to take us back to Napa via the Silverado trail
