WSET Online Level 3 Award in Wines
Course delivery
This qualification has a minimum requirement of 90 hours of study time.
Please note this is an intensive course requiring dedicated personal study
Assessment
Unit 1 is assessed by a closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions and a short-written answer paper consisting of 4 questions. Unit 1 exam time is 2 hours.
Unit 2 is assessed by a blind tasting of two wines. Unit 2 exam time is 30 minutes.
In order to secure a pass for the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines, a candidate will be required to attain a minimum mark of 55% in both units.

Upon successful completion you will be able to assess wines accurately, and use your understanding to confidently explain wine style and quality.
You will receive a WSET Level 3 certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET Level 3 Certified logo.

Entry requirements
You must be over 18 years of age at the time of booking
An exam pass in WSET Level 2 Award in Wines / Wines and Spirits is required to enrol in this course, you will need your WSET Candidate number from your Level 2 grade letter
Special circumstances
If however, you feel you have sufficient wine knowledge without taking the WSET Level 2 Wines course, you can apply to take a test in December (the costs is an extra $75, paid at course enrolment and is not refundable in any circumstance)
At an agreed date and time, you will answer 50 multiply choice questions in 30 minutes. The questions are similar to the Level 2 Wines exam questions. You will need to score at least 86% in this test to be accepted for the Level 3 course (scores will not be given, only pass or fail)
If you do not score at least 86%, the $199 deposit will be refunded (minus $9 fees) and your enrolment cancelled
You can only do this test once!
If the Level 3 course is cancelled due to insufficient numbers, your multiply choice test results will be rolled over to the next Level 3 course (the $75 fee is not refunded)
